TED
TED is a nonprofit dedicated to discovering and spreading ideas that spark conversation, deepen understanding and drive meaningful change. Every year, TED hosts conferences to bring together a group of expert thinkers and doers across a wide range of fields to help share new ideas. With the goal to mobilize a movement for a net-zero future, TED has partnered with ChopValue for a range of circular solutions since 2020.
In response to the transition to a virtual conference, TED sent a care package to every attendee for the 2020 Uncharted event. This brought a much-appreciated physical element to a virtual conference, and fostered meaningful connection among attendees globally. At TED’s The Case for Optimism event, they debuted a new personalized gift program at their first in-person conference since COVID, and ChopValue’s custom tags allowed them to champion a logistical feat while aligning with calls for sustainability.
For TED’s A New Era event, ChopValue designed a custom bar serving some of BC’s favourite drinks, and a bulk station stocked with local snacks. These one-of-a-kind waste-free systems made from 38,000 recycled chopsticks reduced the event’s packaging waste by 20%. With the drink station being a crowd favourite, ChopValue created a larger scale Tap Bar the next year for TED’s Possibility event, serving gut and mind healthy beverages.
