EFFYDESK and ChopValue Strategically Partner to Recycle 10 Million Chopsticks in 2021
ChopValue, Canada's next-generation manufacturing and design franchise, and EFFYDESK, Canada's leading standing desk and ergonomic office furniture company, announced a strategic partnership by creating environmentally-friendly office furniture solutions launching during Earth Month, with the goal to recycle 10 million chopsticks this year.
The contemporary height-adjustable desk market is forecasted to grow $2.87 bn by 2024, and customers are becoming increasingly conscious about the products they purchase. With ChopValue’s sustainable manufacturing practices and EFFY’s expertise in functional design, together they have created the TerraDesk. Made from 10,854 recycled chopsticks and 20,020g of carbon storage, this height-adjustable desk stores more carbon than the entire process creates.
"Our mission is to make a difference, one chopstick at a time," says Felix Böck, CEO and Founder of ChopValue. "By urban harvesting chopsticks from restaurants and food courts in the city, our engineered material is durable, eco-friendly, and truly local. We’re excited to partner with EFFYDESK, a fellow Canadian brand that designs innovative products to support the growing demand for ergonomic home office solutions."
The TerraDesk is equipped with whisper-quiet motors and a simple digital memory keypad. This makes the transition from sitting to standing a natural part of the user’s day, offering a full range of supported movement for a more active and healthier lifestyle while working. The beautiful Butcher Block tabletop provides warm, natural tones that can be paired with a black or white base to perfectly match any interior design style.
"I’ve grown more conscious of how other lifestyle brands have affected me, and how they affect our society today. With EFFYDESK, I wanted to embody these lifestyles and represent this type of culture with our brand," says Dickson Lam, CEO and Founder of EFFYDESK.
"Having my chronic pain relieved by these desks motivated me to help others who might experience similar issues. Now, I’ve become an advocate for ergonomic furniture, and I want to share my success story through my business."
The TerraDesk retails for CA$1,700 and is now available for purchase on EFFYDESK in time to celebrate Earth Month in April. Discover the collaboration at www.effydesk.ca/products/terra-desk, where each purchase plants 100 trees in North America and recycles 10,854 chopsticks from waste streams.
